| "Everyday Wilds" "As a kid, "The Wilderness" was the pine thicket next to my home, the dunes and inlet at the end of Long Beach, tiny backyard creeks, my Grandmother's farmpond in Lemon Springs, and the stretch of Deep River we would walk down railroad tracks to get to on hot summer Sunday afternoons. As an adult I've visited wilder, more exotic places, but the attachment to the everyday wilds of my youth guides me to portraying them in my art. My love of fishing leads me to beautiful places and brings amazingly opalescent wildlife to me that I would have otherwise never have seen. |
